The Sons Of The Desert Tent in New York has devoted itself through the years to honoring the work of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Meeting regularly at the Players’ Club, our members have honored these two comedians for what they did and how, through the years, they brought laughter and joy to millions.

We honor them not only for what they did, but how they did it.

In today’s world, comedy seems to be based on hurting others. Stan and Oliver made us happy by hurting no one (except sometimes themselves) but always with an eye to bettering us all. Their comedy has stood the test of time and their efforts can make us laugh without making us look down at others.

As they wound their way through life, Stan and Oliver found ways to take even the most mundane situation and make it laughable.

Whether getting a piano up a stair or having dinner with their wives, Stan and Oliver found the sublime in the ridiculous and joy in the most common happenings.
